We know that introducing new products to the market is a challenge. Characterization and testing pre-production wafers and devices can be rather difficult and can threaten critical success factors for product launches.

Managed by our very own engineers at our headquarters in the Netherlands our Pilot line enables our responsiveness and ability to deliver fully debugged solutions including running pilot production to help our customers rapidly introduce new products. Our available test services offer mature test solutions, with the ability to deliver fast customer samples and run qualification before being transferred to test houses in the Far East. This means that Salland Engineering can offer critical time-to-market and time-to-volume solutions.

Our equipment can be used at our facilities in Zwolle, Netherlands and can also be accessed remotely for debugging, development and characterization purposes. Fundamentally, Salland Engineering can offer customers full turn-key solutions, from test program/hardware development, assembly, testing, Q&R investigation and delivery to logistic services.

Instrument Development
Salland has been developing custom instruments that extend the capabilities and lifetime of testers since the early 1990's. Our customers are leading ATE vendors as well as chip manufacturers with large ATE investments.

We originally developed CPU replacement boards and network interface modules enabling customers to use a "modern PC" to control their testers. In 1998 we began developing high density instruments in response to specific customer requests. In 2004, it became apparent that many customers needed incremental improvements in the capabilities and throughput of their mainstream testers and couldn't wait for new generation testers from the commercial vendors. Increasing requirements for massive parallelism meant high channel counts were needed.

Today, Salland is able to develop high quality instrument upgrades in less than 18 months. We are knowledgeable of the software and hardware interface requirements of the commercial testers. We deliver solutions to chip manufacturers who use internally developed, proprietary systems as well.

By being independent of any tester vendor or test subcontracting service, we have full control with our customers to choose the best suppliers for the job. We believe we offer better IP protection as well. Different than ATE vendors or OSATS, we can assist you on the tuning your products for optimal test times and quality. We also can provide independent assessment of yield and test verification.
