LiNbO3 (Lithium Niobate) on Si Bonded Wafers are wafers that have a thin layer of LiNbO3 material deposited on top of a silicon wafer. LiNbO3 is an important electro-optic crystal material with a high nonlinear coefficient, which makes it useful for various applications, such as optical modulators, switch devices, and wavelength converters. By bonding LiNbO3 on top of a silicon wafer, the resulting wafers combine the electrical properties of silicon with the optical properties of LiNbO3. This enables the creation of integrated optical-electronic devices on a single substrate.
