Polymer Substrates

Polymer substrates are used in various semiconductor applications, such as flexible electronics, organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), thin-film transistors, and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). Some commonly used polymer substrates in semiconductor production include: Polyethylene terephthalate (PET): PET is a widely used polymer substrate due to its good mechanical and electrical properties, low cost, and availability in large rolls. Polyimide (PI): PI is a high-performance polymer substrate that offers excellent thermal stability, mechanical strength, and flexibility, making it a popular choice for flexible electronics and MEMS. Polyethylene naphthalate (PEN): PEN is a high-performance polymer substrate that offers excellent thermal stability and dimensional stability, making it suitable for high-temperature and high-stress applications. Polyethylene (PE): PE is a low-cost polymer substrate that offers good mechanical and electrical properties and is used in applications such as RFID tags, smart cards, and flexible displays. Polycarbonate (PC): PC is a transparent polymer substrate that offers good mechanical and electrical properties and is used in applications such as touchscreens, LCD displays, and optical storage media. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC): PVC is a low-cost polymer substrate that offers good mechanical and electrical properties and is used in applications such as smart cards, RFID tags, and flexible displays. Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS): PDMS is a transparent and flexible polymer substrate that is used in microfluidic devices, MEMS, and lab-on-a-chip applications.
