This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company as a Senior Project Manager playing a leading role in technology development and NPI projects – responsible for providing leadership to a cross-functional team of highly skilled professionals from across a well-established semiconductor development and manufacturing organisation.

The successful candidate will ideally have 5-10 years’ Project Management experience in the semiconductor, manufacturing, and/or engineering sector, and have a proven track record in delivery within a fast-paced technology environment.

The essence of this role is to effectively execute technology development and/or new products introductions projects, as well as other customer specific funded activities.  To lead the team to successful project completion through the application of Fast Time to Market (FTTM) practices, project management methodologies (such as scope definition, scheduling, risk management, change control protocols) and effective resource management practices (such as ensuring effective team make-up and team dynamics, use of decision-making and conflict resolution techniques).

This position will interact regularly and influence decisions at all levels across the business, including executive management. The role may also directly interface with our key strategic partner(s) across a range of business activities – As a result, excellent communication, teamworking and networking skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Obtain and maintain project approval.
Formulate and manage overall project plans – work with core team to define specifications, deliverables, key milestones and critical path activities; regularly monitor project progress/status; engage in on-going risk management to ensure that projects are delivered according to expected content, quality, costs and schedules.
Drive the introduction of new products using the relevant development/mandate procedures.
Identify and resolve project related issues and barriers to success, and work with the team to resolve.
Work with functional managers to obtain appropriate resources from departments to ensure integration of schedules into overall plans.
Ensure successful project closure – both completion of the project mandate and transfer of the project deliverables to production.
Communication - ensure all the Senior Management Team are provided with timely and accurate project information and status updates.
Adopt perspective that is wider than the confines of a single defined project and initiate activities that span multiple projects where appropriate.
 

Key Requirements: Education, Experience, Skills and Behavioural Competencies:

A minimum of 5-10 years relevant technical project management experience within a fast-paced technology environment is essential.
A degree in the Physical Sciences/ Mechanical / Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline would be of advantage.
This role aspires to become expert in the area of project management processes, tool sets and techniques to allow teams to perform well in their area of expertise. Formal training or experience in project management methodologies is desirable, although specific training for preferred internal tools and methodologies will be provided.
Excellent motivational and communication skills are required as well as the ability to interface with all levels within the company and with external customers.
Industry knowledge and experience from a semiconductor, manufacturing, and/or engineering sectors is preferred.
Self-motivated, and able to thrive in a results-driven environment.
Ability to prioritize among competing tasks.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
