We currently have openings  for a expert in security architecture of SoC/IC security hardware architectures, specifications and implementations. You can apply your security knowledge and experience to ensure that our products achieve best class security.

This role is reporting to the head of Hardware/Systems Security Architecture within the NXP Crypto & Security group, and is located in the NXP sites in Hamburg in Germany, Glasgow in the UK, Graz in Austria, or Delft or Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Other NXP locations may also be considered for the right candidate.

The responsibilities of this exciting, varied role will include

  • Specification of innovative and disruptive security solutions
  • Detailed implementation reviews (RTL, firmware code)
  • Definition of security mechanisms in hardware, firmware, protocols, etc.
  • Security requirements management by definition and linking of security mechanisms to functional requirements
  • Specification, architecture and review of security architectures
  • Detailed attack modeling and security mechanism specification for hardware and software blocks
  • Advising and training the development team on design, implementation and test of software security mechanisms
  • Root cause analysis of security defects
  • Technical interface to customers, evaluation labs and to the product development team
  • Certification support and technical interface with evaluator and certifier
  • Planning coordination and execution of pre-silicon vulnerability analysis (VA) Security Architecture of hardware SoC/IC security architectures
  • Keep up to date with best practices and developments in the SoC/IC security industry (particularly in any areas of expertise)

To ensure your successful performance in this role, the following is desired

  • PhD preferred in Security Engineering or Electronic Engineering
  • Have good knowledge of SoC/IC architectures of embedded devices
  • Have good knowledge in the design and development of embedded secure systems
  • Have knowledge of Hardware Description Languages (System Verilog, VHDL), schematics and layout
  • Have a good security background and understanding of security concepts and principles including cryptography
  • Be familiar with SoC/IC hardware development flows and tools
  • Have an appreciation of embedded firmware/software and how this works in combination with hardware
  • Have knowledge of security certification schemes (e.g. Common Criteria, SESIP, FIPS, OSCCA) and international security standards (e.g. ISO21434, IEC62443) would be advantageous

Furthermore you are:

  • comfortable working independently and in teams
  • flexible and adaptable
  • Show very good communication skills
  • willing to travel when necessary (typically 2 -3 times per year)

Successful candidates will apply their extensive security knowledge and experience to ensure that our products achieve best class security.
