GdScO3, or Gadolinium Scandium Oxide, is a rare earth oxide material with a perovskite crystal structure. It is a wide bandgap semiconductor material with a high melting point, making it a useful material for high-temperature applications. It is often used as a substrate material for the growth of high-quality thin films for various electronic and optical applications. In particular, it has been used as a substrate for the growth of high-temperature superconducting thin films, for which it provides a high thermal stability and excellent lattice matching. Additionally, GdScO3 is also used in ferroelectric and magnetic applications due to its strong piezoelectric and magnetostrictive properties.
