International Workshop on Nitride Semiconductors (IWN 2022) will take place 9-14 October, 2022 in Berlin, Germany. The workshop is planned as live event and will highlight latest advances in the field of group III-nitride materials, nanostructures and devices. Topical symposia will cover growth, characterization, optical and electronic devices as well as novel materials and nanostructures, which will be presented in plenary sessions, parallel topical sessions, poster sessions, and an evening rump session. The workshop will be framed by an industrial exhibition as well as a welcome reception, conference dinner, excursions, and lab tours in order to provide a stimulating environment for participants from all around the world.
Mr. Carsten Hartmann of Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung (IKZ) will present the progress in diameter expansion of bulk AlN crystals over the last 6 months at IWN 2022. Currently IKZ can reproducibly grow 1 inch crystals with excellent structural quality (dislocation densities < 10^4/cm², rocking curve FMHW values < 15 arcsec in (0002) and (10-13) reflection).
