Intel recently announced the celebration of its Intel 4 technology and the first use of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) technology in high-volume manufacturing (HVM) in Europe. This milestone marks the future of products like the upcoming Intel Core Ultra processors, code-named Meteor Lake, which are expected to power AI PCs. Additionally, this technology will pave the way for future-generation Intel Xeon processors, scheduled for release in 2024 and produced on the Intel 3 process node.

The arrival of Intel 4 and EUV technology revolutionizes semiconductor manufacturing by enabling the production of advanced computing applications such as artificial intelligence, advanced mobile networks, and autonomous driving. This significant development aligns with Intel's commitment to delivering five nodes in four years and regaining leadership in process technology by 2025.

The opening of Fab 34 in Leixlip, Ireland, alongside Intel's planned wafer fabrication facility in Magdeburg, Germany, and assembly and test facility in Wrocław, Poland, will establish an end-to-end leading-edge semiconductor manufacturing value chain in Europe. This ecosystem will support industries at the forefront of technology, including AI, telecommunications, data centers, and automotive sectors. It aims to create a resilient and geographically balanced global semiconductor supply chain while supporting Europe's technological ambitions.

Intel's dedication to sustainability is evident through its environmental commitments. The company has released the Ireland Climate Action Plan, outlining initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, water use, and waste sent to landfills. Fab 34 in Leixlip is on track to achieve LEED Gold certification and incorporates design innovations for increased sustainability.

For over 30 years, Intel has considered Leixlip, Ireland, its home and has closely collaborated with the local community. As part of the Fab 34 opening, Intel announced a donation of 1 million euros to fund a community project in Leixlip. Intel continues to be a leading industry player, driving technological advancements to address global challenges and transform business and society for the better.
