ZnTe (Zinc Telluride) Substrates

Zinc Telluride (ZnTe) is a direct bandgap semiconductor material with a hexagonal crystal structure. It is often used as a substrate material in the manufacturing of various optoelectronic devices such as infrared detectors, photodetectors, and solar cells. ZnTe has a high transmission in the mid-infrared spectrum, which makes it an attractive material for optical applications. Additionally, ZnTe has high thermal stability, a low dielectric constant, and low loss tangent, which makes it useful for microwave and millimeter-wave devices. It is usually synthesized through the vapor transport method or the Bridgman method.
