In 2019, onsemi added manufacturing of SiC epitaxial wafers and chips in Roznov , Czech Republic . After the original site had become too small, a new building was erected last year to further expand SiC wafer and epitaxial production. This has now been officially opened.
According to the company, the capacity of SiC production at the site is to increase 16-fold over the next two years, and 200 jobs are to be created by the end of 2024.
