ASML, a Dutch semiconductor company, plans to invest €100 million ($109 million) in 2023, with the intention of making this an annual investment in the following years to expand its production and development capacity at its factory in Berlin, according to Handelsblatt newspaper.

There are currently over 1,600 specialized employees at ASML Berlin, focusing on optical fabrication and high-precision manufacturing. The Berlin facility is responsible for the development and production of key components for ASML's lithography systems, including wafer tables and clamps, reticle chucks, and mirror blocks. ASML acquired Berliner Glas Group in 2020, and its employees in Berlin possess a diverse range of skills and are multilingual. Core technological strengths at the Berlin facility include mechanics, optics, and electronics.
