Nvidia is planning to hold discussions regarding semiconductor cooperation with Vietnamese tech companies and authorities in a meeting scheduled for Monday in Hanoi.
According to an invitation letter obtained by Reuters, Jensen Huang, the president and chief executive of Nvidia, is set to meet with representatives from the Vietnamese government and companies. The main focus of the meeting is to explore ways to enhance the semiconductor industry in Vietnam and to potentially establish partnerships between Nvidia and Vietnamese tech firms. Reports indicate that Nvidia is expected to engage in a technology transfer agreement with at least one Vietnamese company during this meeting. Several prominent Vietnamese companies, including FPT (FPT.HM), Vingroup (VIC.HM), and state-owned Viettel, have confirmed their attendance at the event but have refrained from commenting on any potential deals. The Vietnamese investment ministry, which is hosting the event, has not provided immediate comments on the matter. It is worth noting that Nvidia has previously collaborated with leading tech companies in Vietnam for the deployment of AI in various industries, as highlighted in a document released by the White House during the diplomatic relations upgrade between the United States and Vietnam in September.
