Grirem Advanced Materials Co.,Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as “Grirem”) was founded after an entire restructuring to National Engineering Research Center for Rare Earth Materials(hereinafter referred to as “CREM”) as a joint-stock company in 2001, with Grinm group Co., Ltd. ( previous General Research Institute for Non-ferrous Metals, hereinafter referred to as “GRINM”) as the main sponsor. Grirem’s predecessor was established in 1958, which was one of the earliest organizations engaged in R&D of rare earths in China, as well as one of the birthplaces of rare earth industrial technology in China.

Grirem focuses on the production, research and development of rare earth and related materials, possessing an integrated industry chain from rare earth mining to rare earth functional materials. The main products of Grirem include rare earth compounds, rare earth metals, rare earth alloys, rare earth magnetic materials, rare earth luminescence materials, rare earth catalytic materials, rare earth ceramic materials, rare earth target materials and coating materials, etc., and passed the ISO9001:2015 standard quality management system certification.Total capacity of RE products in Grirem exceeds 10,000 tons per year.

Nowadays, Grirem is a group company. Besides the headquarter in Beijing, Grirem has 2 Wholly-owned subsidiaries, they are GuoKe Rare Earth Advanced Materials Co.,Ltd. and Leshan Grirem Advanced Materials Co., Ltd.; 5 holding subsidiaries, they are Rare Earth Functional Materials Innovation Center (Xiongan) Co., Ltd.,Grirem (Rongcheng) Co.,Ltd.,Grirem (Tsingtao) Co.,Ltd.,Langfang GANS Magnetic Materials Co., Ltd.and Langfang Guojia Magnetic Materials Co., Ltd.; 4 share-holding subsidiaries. The headquarter mainly produce high purity RE metals, RE special alloys, advanced magnetic materials, high-end RE luminescent materials, etc.

Nowadays, there are more than 1100 employees in Grirem, in which over 10% employees have master degrees or above. There are 2 members of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Zhang Guocheng and Huang Xiaowei, and also have more than 10 other scientific technology talents, including government special allowances experts, leaders in science and technology innovation that announced by Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and national candidates of the New Century thousands of Talents Project, etc. Grirem was also honoured with the title of “National Advanced Collective of Professional Technical talents” by Organization Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Propaganda Department of CPC Central Committee, Ministry of Science and Technology of the China and Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China.

CREM is the R&D center of Grirem. Grirem inherits and enhances the scientific and technological innovation capability of CREM, and has the advanced R&D comprehensive strength on the rare earth metalurgy, seperation & purification and advanced rare earth materials. For over 60 years, it had developed more than 400 items of advanced technologies in rare earth metallurgy, separation and purification, RE metals and alloy, as well as RE functional materials, obtained over 170 national and provincial science and technology prizes, applied more than 500 invention patents. More than 50% of R&D fruits were industrialized, and conducted more than 160 technology transfer or licenses for patents use practice all overtheworld, which made outstanding contributions to the establishment, development, adjustment and upgrading of China's rare earth industrial system.
