Rubicon has two proprietary crystal growth technologies for growing sapphire in multiple formats and sizes, with special focus on larger size sapphire. Our ES2 Kyropoulos crystal growth technology was introduced in 2002 and produces excellent optical quality sapphire. ES2 technology has been extended from 35kg to 83kg to 200kg boules sizes offering excellent quality sapphire from small to very large dimensions.
LANCE (Large Area Net-shape Crystal Extraction) technology, our new sapphire growth technology based on the horizontal direction method and developed in conjunction with the Air Force Research Labs. LANCE produces optical-quality sapphire slabs 36 x 18 x 2 inches in size, providing the largest area sapphire windows and components in the world.
Rubicon’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities grow and fabricate sapphire blanks and finished components with precise geometries, orientations and tight tolerances. Our production processes are flexible to accommodate a wide range of customer specifications and volume requirements.
